It's already March and I am so done with this year.
It has brought me sadness and pain.

The year has taken my beloved cousin away.
She went to sleep to never wake up on earth.

It has been hard having to deal with this loss.
We continue living, that is what we all do when one of us ends their journey on this earth.

I find solace in sharing memories of her with people who knew her. People who experienced the beautiful soul that she was.
I can't share stories of my past without her featuring in it.
My childhoods, birthdays, undergrad experiences all feature her.
My friends were her friends. Her friends were my friends.
Even though I fought a lot with her friends.

I was looking forward to our 35th.
She would have been 35 on the 25th of March
I had hope to have another joint birthday with her just like our 1st, 5th, 10th and 21st.
Now I see the finality of this post I wrote almost 10 years ago: The First of many to come...

I was thinking of spending this year travelling with her.
All my thoughts are just thoughts now because she is no longer here for me plan with.
All my plannings out the door now.

I will miss her seeing her 'aburo' comments on my posts and me telling her to stop deceiving herself.
She is one month and one day older.
My mum basically birth me and handed me over to her sister to raise.

Her name is Zainab Adetola Bakre!

Before her death, I have been struggling.
I think I am angry, not just at this death but at something I am yet to figure out.
I am left with this hollow feeling which I will spend the rest of my year or many years fighting off.

The question, "what happened" has been super annoying to me lately.
If you are not family or personally know the 'late', I think you should just stick to sending your condolences and move on. Instead of making the bereaved recount experience that do not matter to you.

Living in Lagos exhausts me, but I am not even ready to move cities.

Career-wise I am am good.
I changed employer last year, which is partly the reason for travelling only twice in 2019.
I love the people that I work with.

An employer headhunted me late last year and asked what it will take to have me port.
"The people", I said.
I used to think that I love my work. But now, I know that it's the people at work that I really love.
They are the ones who make the profession worthwhile.

I think I need a career break.
I need a minimum of 1 month break from work.
I don't know if I want to spend this break travelling or withdrawing to a remote place away from people.

I will be back to the travel posts. There is Namibia, Ivory Coast and Cape Verde to share with you all

It is the fourth month of the year and sadly this is when I publish my first post this year.

I didn't plan it like this, but life happened.

The burnout that I mentioned in my last post was worse than I thought or imagined. It took me a long time to realize that the loss of interest in every activity that I am passionate about and that gives me joy was a result of my burnout.

I have been struggling with everything. From meeting deadlines to meeting up with friends, to planning personal and contracted trips, even waking up to get to work has lost its zeal.

I started running to distract myself, I lost a bit of weight but more importantly, I look forward to running every weekend. I have not been consistent lately but I am happier.

The months have not been entirely traveling or activities free....so here are the adventures in 2018 so far.

First stop in January was the Awolowo Museum and Private Beach situated in Lekki town. So Lekki Town is about 20 minutes from Epe and on the Lekki free trade zone axis.

Next up in February, I went Kayaking in Lagos and visited the Arinta waterfall and Ikogosi warm springs.

My first visit to Ikogosi Warm Springs was 2014 and I remember complaining about the hot spring. Sadly the hot spring has become lukewarm and totally becomes cold instead of warm by the time it connects with the cold spring. The neglect the tourist destination has suffered is appalling. Arinta waterfall makes a trip to Ekiti worth it.

For the Easter holiday, I went back to Togo with my friend Tayo and 5 other ladies. We switched Kpalime for the Voodoo town of Togoville.

Yesterday, I went camping on the Takwa Bay beach overnight. I had my first camping experience sleeping in a tent on the beach. It was such a beautiful experience camping with 12 strangers. The organizer was the only one I knew and one lady I went kayaking with last year.

Tomorrow, I am off to Tanzania with 2 of my friends. I hope to keep up with blogging now.

I am thinking of joining the Wordpress bandwagon. I guess time will tell if I make the switch or not.

2016 was the year of getting my ass out of the comfort zone
2017 is the year of stretching myself and stretch myself I did all through the year.

2017 has been a crazy, good and great year.

Instead of using the word "bad", I choose to use the word "Crazy", because to be honest, the year was not as bad as I expected.

I did some pretty stupid things, that I am even ashamed to talk about and then I went on to do great things I am proud of.

First up, I had my postgraduate degree graduation in January and my graduation gift to myself was the trip to South Africa and Kenya. I only showed up at the venue because my mum insisted on coming and wanted to take pictures with me. She was trying to make up for missing my undergraduate graduation. No form of studying happened this year and that was intentional.

Friendship: I am a sucker for friendship, people who know me well know how I go through the highs and lows for anyone I call a friend. Respect and loyalty are key for me. I got a rude awakening this year and had to define the relationship with most of the people I call friends. One key lesson is that you can only be friends with people who see you as their friends.

Don't go making an acquaintance a friend.

With friendship, I learned forgiveness. I relearned the value to beautiful friendships both old and new.

Travel took the focal point of the year. My first post of the year highlighted my 2017 travel goals. In the post, I mentioned plans to go on a West African adventure, visit some states in Nigeria and ring in the new year in the New York.

Lake Kivu, Rwanda

I got to visit 5 out of all 11 destinations I listed.

I can't complain because even though I listed 11 destinations, I ended up visiting 19 destinations in total. If I count Ile-Ife and Nairobi which I visited twice within the same year then that sums up 21 destinations. Switched the West African adventure for the East African experience.

I got to explore 4 new countries (South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda) and visited 6 in total ( revisited Benin Republic and Togo). Locally I visited, Osun state (Ile-Ife, Osogbo), Ogun state (Abeokuta), Bauchi state (Bauchi, Yankari), Plateau state (Jos) and Kwara (Offa, Owa-Kajola (Owu Waterfall).

Away from Travel, I finally launched my travel and HR Consultancy businesses so I would say this year was the testing phase. The HR Consultancy suffered the most because at some point I was unable to find a balance between both opposing businesses and my 9-5. I joined an entrepreneurship support group and I would say that has been one of my best decisions in 2017. My biggest business shock was realizing the fact that some friends will not support the business or should I use the word patronize your business. They are used to having it for free and would rather pay someone else than pay you for the services.

Books: I did read quite a number of books but I, unfortunately, was unable to read as much as I wanted. I am currently in some sort of reading rut, I can't seem to pay enough attention to complete a book.

I was able to save enough money this year but I spent a lot of it on travel. I am not even sad about it nor regret spending money on any of the experience. I will be spending more next year.

December has been a pretty hectic month. I returned from my trip on the 19th of November and dived straight into work. Right now I am suffering the worst burnout ever in my life and I am physically and mentally exhausted.

I made the decision to spend the holiday with family. All I have been doing in the past days is sleep, eat and sleep again.

I didn't get the year that I planned but I got the best year life had to give me

Away from 2017 and on to what I want from 2018.

So the goal for 2018 is intentional and productive living.
There has been a lot of introspection and plannings.

I will be picking up the books and hopefully get my HR certifications. My certifications come at a cost so it will affect how much I will spend on travel.

I will cut back on personal international travels and do more of domestic travels. The plan is to visit at least 3 new countries.

My travel plans, for now, are Côte d'Ivoire (no fixed date) and Tanzania (April 24 to May 1, 2018) for my birthday.

Zanzibar

Europe is also on my bucket list for the year. Belguim, France, Sweden and Lithuania are top on the list.

Locally, I plan to explore the Eastern part of the country starting from Enugu.

Arinta waterfall in Ekiti is top on my list for 2018. I also plan to visit my mum in Abuja. New York is also on my radar, this is majorly dependent on when I get the US Visa.

Where do you plan to visit in 2018?
What are your goals for 2018?

“Travel is stress, travel takes your money and if you are not careful, you will burnout.”

I sat through travel focused sessions during the just concluded Social media week in Lagos and listened to the tour operators talk about how Nigerians do not like to travel, how we do not know our beloved country Nigeria beyond the cities and towns we live in and how Nigerians do not visit beyond the UK, US and UAE whenever they think travel.

On my way to Johannesburg this January, the NDLEA and immigration officers kept asking me why I was not visiting Obudu Cattle ranch and carrying our money outside the country.

I remember saying this during the Q and A session of the one of the sessions, that we are beginning to shame people who do not travel. That we travel does not make our lives more fulfilled that those who do not travel. We are also finding a way to shame people who travel as well for travelling only to particular regions and not off the beaten paths.

My cousins have been living in the UK for the past 7 years, they aspire to visit the USA and Canada and for them that is life. This is the typical Nigerian dream.

Despite the fact that I have travelled to over 10 countries that I am yet to visit the UK and US, I have not yet arrived. Living in Germany is the not the same as visiting the UK.

The only place my mother aspires to visit is Saudi Arabia for Hajj and maybe the UK. Going to Saudi Arabia for Hajj is the ultimate goal of Muslims the world over, so even if you never get to visit anywhere else in the world, that goal alone makes your life fulfilled.

Even within the world of travellers, there is a lot of shaming. You hear words such as don’t be a tourist, be a traveller and blab bla bla. The number of countries clocked is now another form of shaming.

On my way to Lomé for the Easter holiday, I met another traveler who I have been following for a while on Instagram @theajalabug. We got chatting about our type of travel, she does not like stress and even though I might not call her a luxury traveler, she is not a budget traveler either. I saw her itinerary and she was more for comfort than anything else.

I used to think I was a budget traveller until this year and I realised, that struggle life is not for me.

For me comfort and safety is key. Couchsurfing is not for me; does that make me any better than the person who lives for freebies when travelling?

The fact that I have been to over 10 countries does not make me better than that person who has never been anywhere or who only visits the UK or USA all the time. Neither is the person who has counted over 20 countries any more knowledgeable than me.

Yes, Travel is good, travel opens your eyes to the many opportunities that exists in the world.

Travel breaks down barriers.

But the honest truth is travel is not for everyone.

Not everyone can afford to travel.

Travel is all glamorous but expensive.

Pictures for the gram is so beautifully edited that we sometimes forget the struggle and drama it took to get us to the destination.

Travel is stress, it zaps all your energy. Travel will take your money and if not careful, you will burnout.

That I get to inspire people to explore the world does not make me any better than that person who has never been beyond their current cities/towns.

That you have clocked in so many countries on your passport does not give you the bragging right to have lived a fulfilled life. Fulfilment in life for you is different from another’s.

You should not be ashamed to only want to travel Nigeria and Africa. You should not be ashamed to tell that friend of yours who travels that you cannot afford the trip planned.

I will not shame you for your life choices neither do I expect you to shame me for mine.

The last time I wrote a bus diary was October 2010,

The one thing I love above about public transport in Lagos is the daily madness. Events happen and you are left wondering what the hell is going on, and some days you are just laughing like crazy amazed by people and their actions.

So on my way to Room for Three, this happened.
I got down for this lady at Oshodi, so she could share the front seat with me.

I didn't watch her get in as I was distracted by the gala selling girl besides me. I got back into the car and noticed the lady touching her head and the driver trying to re-adjust his mirror.

Next thing I hear,
Lady: Oga, you no even fit say sorry, na mirror you dey check.

Driver: What do you mean by sorry, can't you see you have broken my glass.

This caught my attention as I have been oblivious of the previous event. It was at that moment the lady and I noticed the crack on the windscreen. This was no a head hitting the glass scenario, her head hit the mirror which lead to the crack on the windscreen.

The lady kept touching her head for blood while the driver kept mumbling.
Next thing I heard,

Driver: What are we going to do now?
Lady: What do you mean by what are we going to do?
Driver: I just dey commot for mechanic, I just spent twenty thousand Naira.
Lady: Oga no vex

Continues mumbling, some minutes after.

Driver: Madam, you have to pay for my glass. Me I don't have fifteen thousand Naira.
Lady: Pay for which glass, did I intentionally break it?
Driver: You did not break it intentionally but you have to pay for it. I will not let you go if you don't pay for it.

At this point, I was just confused, other passengers then decided to intervene. Driver said sorry will not replace the glass.

Lady: Oga, abeg discharge the other passengers make we go report ourselves for police station. Do you think I do not know my rights in this country.
Driver: shebi, make we go police station. You break my glass, dey tell me about your rights.
Passenger 1: Oga, how you take know say she get fifteen thousand for hand. Even if she get am, na she and you go dey drive the moto wey you dey ask for fiften thousand naira.
Passenger 2: Wetin police wan do for una, una go just go spend unnecessary money.
Driver: Oga, she has to give me something. She cannot break my glass and go just like that.
Lady: Oga,you no serious, fifteen thousand naira for wetin. I say discharge your passengers let us go to the police station.
Driver: No be person come down for you, why she no knack head for mirror before you enter.
Passenger 1: Oga, abeg let us go. You no fit collect money for glass for her hand oh.
Driver: Oga, abeg mind your own or you come down from my motor.
Passenger 3: If to say as she knack head for mirror, she wound and blood don dey rush, you think say na glass money you go dey find.
Driver: as she no injure nko, make I come dey go use money repair glass.

For a minute, I felt guilty for getting down to allow her come in, I should have just shifted my butt to the seat besides me. But then, I didn't want an uncomfortable ride with my legs squeezed and avoiding the brake hitting my knee.

The whole scenario was just funny, at some point I was laughing and amazed by the driver's crazy demand. Fifteen thousand Naira just like that. The dude must need cash badly for him to be making such ridiculous demand. Plenty cars with cracked windscreens in Lagos and in this instance I do not even see why he needed to replace it. Abeg, someone enlighten me if there is a fine in Lagos on vehicles with cracked screens.

When we got to Obalende, the driver refused to allow the lady get down from the bus, insisting they go to the police station. While they were at it, police men flagged the bus down for obstruction.

So I am sure they ended up in the police station.
If the woman paid the money is the one I cannot tell.

Dusting cobwebs
I didn't realize that I would one day have to start dusting cobwebs on this blog.
I used to "yimu" at bloggers who do this.

Years back, two friends once told me that a time will come in my life when checking out not to talk of been active on social media will be the last thing on my mind. I "yimued" when they said this.

Alas, today this is the story of my life.
No time rara.

I knew I was going to have a busy year
But I didn't expect it to eat up all of my life.

This was my life for the last 4 months
My work life is exhausting, that is particularly what it eating up all of my time.
Right now I am working.
I need to find a balance.

I don't have time even to study, I wrote my first semester examination in the last week of July and I must say I wasn't even prepared for it.

Even though I was on leave, I was practically working every day.
The crazy thing is that my exam came up the same week I was assigned to manage a project.
Yeye Unilag people too are to blame for releasing the exam date so late, that there was no way I could avoid not working while on leave.

The professional exam I wrote this year was also affected, by this lack of time to study.
I have decided no more professional exams this year till I find a balance.

I shall find a balance soon and hope to continue blogging and particularly travel as much as I want.
I am canceling the trip I had planned for the Ramadan break, friends are pulling out and I am too scattered to even draw up a proper plan.

On another note, I am taking this expensive hobby of mine seriously.
I got a new lens and I am hoping to get another one.
Friends are advising I go professional, but not sure I am ready for that.

I am not yet photography smart and to be honest, I don't think I can handle the tantrums thrown by humans. I assisted a friend at a wedding once and I gave up at some point. The couple was just on another level.

Photography, for now, will remain a hobby till further notice.
Maybe someday I will change my mind.

Wishing you all a wonderful week and I guess with this free time of mine, I shall do blog rounds.

Alhaj concentrate on your work, he said.
I wasn’t sure he was talking to me so I did not respond.
40 mins after…Alhaja you were told to stop writing and you continued, he said.
Why are you calling me Alhaja? I asked.
Because you tied a scarf (in this case a pashmina) on your head, the lady sitting directly opposite me replied.
I looked at her and then at him to confirm this statement and he smiled.
In Lagos, you are automatically tagged a muslim the moment a scarf is weaved around your head and if you are a Christian you are labelled an “SU”.
There is this level of respect that is accorded to women who are assumed to be religious. Scarf tying, veil covering and hijab wearing woman is considered a religious one.

The Area boys do not sexually harass you, you hear words such as “This one na SU/Alhaja oh” when you come across them.

--------------------------------------------------------------
In Ilorin….
I did not know that you are a Muslim; he said as I walked past him with a kettle to perform my ablution for the Asr prayers.
So you are a Muslim, another said when I told him my name. Why did you assume I am not a Muslim, I asked.
You are not wearing a hijab, he replied. But I am tying a scarf, I replied.
Well for us an hijab is what signifies you as a Muslim, a scarf round your head may be for fashion or you are covering your undone hair, he said.

I did not grow in a hijab wearing family, I replied and that does not make me less of a Muslim because I am wearing a cap. Well that is what we use in identifying our women, he replied.

Actually from what I am told my method of tying the pashmina on my head looks more like a fashion accessory than hair covering.

I cannot say I fault the views held in any of these towns, yes Lagos is a more liberal town. Any form of head covering for women is acceptable as religious. But for Ilorin, there is a standard in Islam which is followed. And no matter how we liberal muslim will like to have, there is still a standard. My mum and her siblings frown upon scarf tying, I probably would have become an hijabite at some point in my life. But I know my family, they won't even marry me off to a man who will want me to wear one. Their reason is story for another day.

But for one I don’t see myself any less of a Muslim simply because I do not wear an hijab. My pashima tying which I have since discarded since I moved back to Lagos is enough for me.

I grew up in a home filled with house-helps.
I can't remember any house help hitting me, even though my aunt gave them the liberty to beat us whenever my cousins and I misbehaved.
So imagine my shock when I watched the video of the Ugandan maid viciously attacking that little child. I am sure you lots have seen the video, if not, please go look for it.

Another crazy story was that of the Chinese lady who cut off her nephew's penis was barging into the toilet while she chatted with her boyfriend on the phone.

There was this young couple who moved into their house few buildings from my mum's.
The husband is a drilling engineer with one of the top oil companies in Nigeria, he was never home. The wife is a fashion designer and owned a shop around Egbeda.
I never saw the husband but I saw the wife once in a while whenever she drove down the street.
All of a sudden, the house was empty, the gate locked.

This is a house they moved into less than 2 years, they own the house which is the reason for my surprise.

Mum had the gist few weeks later.
The wife is a mother of 3, the first born was away in boarding house.
The second, a boy of 4 and her 2 years old daughter.

As a typical Nigerian mother, she could not trust the safety of her young daughter with the 12 years old houseboy. So she always took her young daughter with her anywhere she went and left the young boy with the house boy and her husband's brothers in the house.

Alas, this action which seem harmless and normal was to her undoing.
For her husband's brothers could not be bothered about the young boy.
All they do is watch TV everyday and eat food cooked by the wife.

Unknown to the brothers and the wife, the houseboy was sexually molesting the young boy while the husband's brothers watched TV or slept in the same house.

The wife began to suspect something was wrong when she noticed her son limp while walking. Never in her wildest dream would she had assumed something like that was happening to her son.

Who would have thought a 12 years old boy brought from the village was capable of molesting a 4 years old boy. The wife's fear was that the 12 years old boy might molest her 2 years old daughter not her son. Her son was supposed to be safe with the house boy.

It took many days of cajoling for the little boy to open up and finally talk about his ordeal.
The wife was in shock and when she finally confronted the houseboy, was attacked with a knife.

Luckily for her, her husband's brothers were able to overpower the houseboy.
Turned out the houseboy had also been molested at a very young age by some uncle of his in the village. He needed to satisfy his sexual urges and since he was molested as a child saw no wrong in molesting another young boy as well.

The mother-in-law blamed the wife.
She called her names and asked what she was doing that she cannot take care of 2 children.
The gist had spread around the neighborhood like fire.
The shame was too much for the wife.
She begged her husband and moved to her friend's house.

Her husband came back to town and bought another house far away from the neighbourhood.
The house boy was sent back to the village.

The stories are everywhere, if the child is not sexually assaulted, they are physically assaulted.
Even family members can not be trusted to take care of one's child like the parent will.

Countless times, I have seen my young cousins shove my little niece, pinch her or simply just hit the girl without any provocation. Like the little kid is just on her own and this cousin just walks up to her and for whatever devilish reason just hits the kid. My sister goes crazy whenever she sees this, and I wonder why hurt an harmless child.

Yes, Nanny cam's are on the rise but does that save the child from been viciously attacked by those paid to watch over them. A friend recently suggested that couple if need be should employ professional nannies because she believes those one do the job from the heart and not just for the money.

I know it is not easy in this world of ours to give up the job and especially the money that come with it to take care of one's family. Only except if the man is over financially capable to bear the burden alone. But then we need to always take extra care to protect our children.

Imagine if the Ugandan father had not set up a camera in the house.
Some of our men had their first sexual experience with the house helps back in the days.
I might not have been physically or sexually attacked as a child, but then I can not 100% be comfortable leaving my future child with someone I do not know from Adam.

We live in a vicious world. I don't know what I would do if any one harms a strand of hair on my future child.

How is Naimat* now, been a while? I asked

She dey oh, replied Halimah*

Shey she don finally do her Nikkah, I asked. To this I got a smile from Halimah and Julia*

Wetin happen now, I thought she was engaged and planning her wedding, I said

Ring wey she don throwey give the guy, Halima said with a straight face.

That shut me up and I needed no more information. For whatever reason, she called off the relationship, I admire Naimat’s courage.

Our gist continued to Halimah’s sister who is also Naimat’s friend. I found out that Jumai*, Halimah sister had ended her less than 2 years marriage. Jumai is just 26 year old with a child and now a separated from her hus. Halimah went on to tell how Jumai’s husband and family maltreated her, she was also physically abused. Jumai never told anyone until the day she could take it no longer. She left her husband’s family house along with her daugther without a pin dead in the night and the man has since returned to the US where he was based before they met and got married.

I talked about how I would rather break up an engagement than go ahead to waste my time and money to end up with a broken home. Julia disagreed with my opinion that in our society it is better to go ahead with the wedding even with doubt in mind and maybe get divorced after a child or two.

Funny how my mother also shares Julia’s opinion, Julia went ahead to say the society respects a former Mrs than a forever Miss who never made it to the altar.

As far as I can remember, I have never wanted to get married before the age of 30. It is really not a miss independent thingy, it was just this thought that creeped into my brain as a kid and I must say at the rate I am going, marriage will not be on my card before then. I remember telling my cousins about this decision of mine and they all decided to cast and bind the evil spirit of late marriage from my life. When I made this decision, I really had no exact reason for it but nowadays when I sit back and think about it, I always knew I would not be ready for marriage before that age.

I wish a lot of people would just be true to themselves rather let society dictate to them, why not just make that decision to settle down in whenever they are emotionally ready for the next step.

A friend of mine once said that most people on the street of Lagos are mad, just that their madness has not degenerated to the regular naked mad man eating from the dustbin.

It all started when this woman seeing in the front row, a child strapped to her back with the twin positioned on her lap offered the conductor 10Naira for a 20Naira bus fare. The conductor refused and told his driver who also bluntly refused. as is with Nigerian drivers, this is an opportunity for him to start talking anyhow.

Can't tell if it was a fellow passenger that gave the woman the extra 10Naira or she brought it out from her bag, she squeezed the money into the conductors hand.

Unknown to the driver that she has paid her correct fare, he continue talking that if she had told him it was another matter, she entered and sat and is not offering him 10Naira.

The woman then responded that it was enough oh, that she has paid the money...

The next we heard was Thunder fire you from the driver and the exchange of words and curse began and...gbam, a slap on the driver’s face. He almost lost control of the wheel, and then he packed.

You dey craze, he said...shey you wan beat me she replied, dropping the twin on her lap and standing, ready for a show down. You dey craze, I be your wife wey you dey curse me...I never pay you your money.

The driver to the conductor, oya give her money make she come down.

Shey na for here you carry me, I no dey come down...I wan see wetin you wan do She said, sitting down.

The look on my face as well as the others was that of shock, as in I could not even laugh. When I heard the slap...in my head I was like see ‘were’. I have seen drivers and passengers insult themselves and say worse things to each other, but this one get k-leg. When one of the passengers tried to talk to the woman, she turned and wanted to start cursing that one, na so she padlock her mouth.

Everyone sha begged the driver, who obviously is not a violent man, to carry us to our destination. I can only but imagine if she had tried it with some other man, I am sure it is her dead body the husband will come to carry.

Some women sabi pass dem boundary no be small.

Thank God it's Friday, had a really stressful week and surely not going to have any rest this weekend.

Taking my lil sis, Zainab shopping on saturday for her school provisions, she goes back to school on monday. On sunday, off to Ilisan to go drop, Aisha's laptop with her, don't know what I was thinking when I volunteered to take the laptop to school for her.

Discussing my bus experience is going to be a regular on this blog, what have i not seen or heard in the bus...the bus is a world on its own, where people are never afraid to be themselves or show that side of them, even the closest person to them has never experienced.

Today, I left the house on hour earlier than my usual, the traffic has crazy lately and most times I get to work late. The road was unusually free this morning, guess the tanker drivers who usually queue to enter the Tincan port overslept...in my mind, thinking I will get to work early today, the driver and conductor of the bus I entered decided to show their craze.

At the National Petrol Station, just before the Tincan second gate, we saw a bus packed, all its passengers out with its driver fighting with one of the passengers. A normal sight in Lagos, you would say, just as I said to myself...before we knew it, the driver of our bus packed and jumped out the car with his conductor to join in the fight. I was stunned, every thing was like film trick...more like the guy forgot he was going somewhere or that he actually had it in mind that the people in the bus had a place to go to which is called work.

For more than thirty minutes, we sat and waited for the two idiots to come back to the bus...the dumb policeman in the bus, that we thought was going to go help get the mad driver and conductor, also joined in beating the guy the drivers were fighting with...I was mad, I could not even say anything...the spot he packed us was so muddy, so we were stuck in the bus and looking on till they stop their madness and hoping it was soon.

The two idiots even followed the crowd into a big company they all entered and were actually beaten out of the premises before they remembered they had left some people in their bus. They were not even apologetic and just kept saying they had to help their man out and can not go on without been there for him.

I just was not interested in the gist, in short nobody was...every one one was angry and some people kept telling the driver they wished someone had broken his head in the fight or something more terrible had happened to him...all I wanted to do was to get to get out of the bus and get to work
