WHY?
When the man on the corner,
Looks in the trashcan,
Pulling out brown bags,
And an empty soda can...
When the towers came down
On that day in September,
And terror was felt,
How could you not remember?
When a friend is lost,
'Cause someone else drank too much beer.
A family is torn apart
To someone, that friend was so dear...
When teenagers,
Who think they are cool,
Make fun of those different,
In your public school...
When an infant is found
In a dumpster near death,
Unsure of this world,
As she takes her last breath...
When a child is kidnapped,
When a mother is killed,
When a puppy's run over,
As the world stands still...
What will you say,
To your child with angel eyes,
As she looks straight at you,
And tearfully asks...
WHY?

ReplyDeleteAwesome.... I like
ReplyDeleteVery deep poem. I'll say that the world was torn away from its original design, and that the world is stipulated by humans who claim they are their own Gods.
